5 Things Teens Do Not Know About Sexting But Should

To many of teens, sending sexually explicit content is viewed as a normal way to interact with their peers. They do not see anything wrong with it, especially if they believe that “everyone is doing it.” Meanwhile, other teens engage in sexting because they see it as a joke or because they feel pressured to do so.

Sarah Chisolm

“It was about 4 years ago when I attended my first Free Teens meeting. What I learned from Free Teens within my first two years, I didn’t think I would need that advice as I got older, but I was wrong. This organization has taught me that practicing abstinence  and being drug-free can save you from a stressful and dangerous life. Doing drugs can only lead you to three places: 1. The hospital. 2. Relationship Intelligence Training found to increase students’ intent to delay sex

Independent evaluators at Montclair State University found that Relationship Intelligence Training risk avoidance education significantly increased students’ intentions to delay sexual involvement compared with students who had not received the program.

At a followup survey given 6 – 10 months after receiving 6 hours of RIT education, students were 48% less likely to say they planned to have sex in the next 12 months. In contrast students who did not receive RIT had 36% increased intentions to become sexually active (p=.004).

At 6 – 10 […]

I will forever remember her presentation

“I will forever remember her presentation. She got me out of a 3 year relationship I was completely stuck in.” GS 135 twelfth grade students participated in an anonymous survey after receiving the Relationship Intelligence Training presentations by Linda Doering in December 2014. The following reflect the range of those responses. None were negative:

What did you like or not like about the program?

The program is interesting and not presenting facts in a boring manner. CV
I loved how Ms. Linda makes the program fun yet very informative. She is very understanding, funny, and seemed to come down to our level to open our […]

Amber

Dear Free Teens,

I am a college freshman this year, 19, and finally on my own. My religion and culture have always emphasized abstinence until marriage, and I have chosen to obey that principle. When I was a young teenager, I also decided I would not have boyfriend in High School, and would not kiss anyone until after I graduated. I achieved my goals. I know some of the girls at my school that got pregnant in High School, or had irresponsible sex, and felt bad about it. I never had to worry about it, because I made the choices before […]
